This Week In Russian MMA #7: A LHW Star Was Born

We’re back with the good stuff, This Week In Russian MMA is here and it’s a scorcher full of results and stunning fight highlights from ACB and M-1 Global as well as fight announcements and fighter signings from ACB, M-1 Global and WFCA Akhmat. ACB 64: Young Eagles 19 selected results and highlights:

Antalya, Turkey provided host for ACB 64 and in it’s first event there, it sure held a cracker full of incredible moments. Here’s the results of note.

  • Featherweight Bout: Magomed Khamzaev def. Maxim Maryanchuk via Decision (Unanimous)
  • Bantamweight Bout: Nashkho Galaev def. Denis Mutsnek via КО (Knee) (Round 2 – 2:08) An incredible fight was the co main event. In round 1 Denis Mutsnek chokes out Nashko Galaev but before the referee intervened he woke back up, insane right. In the second round Galaev goes on to knock Mutsnek out with a knee strike. ACB 65: Silva vs Agnaev selected results and highlights

ACB 65 was closer to home for me (still a good few hours mind 😉 ), held at Sheffield Arena in the UK. Again and as always with ACB, the event was full of cracking fights and many a bonus to hand out afterwards. Here’s the results.

ACB recently announced the signing of Bantamweight fighter Diego Silva (8-2, 2 TKO, 3 sub) to add to their evergrowing roster.


Fight News:

Three fights have been added to the event ACB 67 in Grozny. Firstly Salimgerey Rasulov will face Evgeny Erokhin. Also Rahman Dzhannaev will do battle with Martin Zawada while Muslim Makhmudov faces Jose Daniel Toledo.


M-1 Global:


M-1 Challenge 81: selected results and highlights

M-1 headed to the mountains for this one. An incredible view and some incredible fighting followed, here’s the results.

Fight News:

Another fight has been added to the M-1 Challenge 82 card in Finland. Ruslan Shamilov fights Moses Murrietta


WFCA Akhmat:

Plenty of news from a promotion not too often mentioned on here but it’s been a busy week for WFCA.

Firstly there is 3 fighter signings to announce. A Prospect, 3-0 Light Heavyweight Arden Tilsov signed up to the promotion, while the experienced 20-6 Kiril Sukhomlinov and former UFC fighter Naoyuki Kotani became the latest additions.

Also WFCA revolutionised it’s promotion by added it’s very own fighter rankings system much like the UFC. Very few promotions have have such an open look to the rankings with most promotions,  the fans pretty much deciding who goes where in their heads. They’ve announced the rankings for each of their divisions which will be shown below.
